Mary Liz Ingram grew up in Birmingham and attended Samford University, receiving a BA in Religion, and McAfee School of Theology in Atlanta. After seminary, Mary Liz was the Director of Children’s Ministries at McDonough Presbyterian Church, just south of Atlanta, for 5 years, with over 100 children and 40 volunteers participating yearly. At McDonough Presbyterian, she aided in the development, start-up and growth of McDonough Presbyterian Preschool, involved in the beginning stages. She is married to Stephen and has three young children, Mary Clare, Patrick and Nora, who have and are growing up in the warm environment of MBPC Preschool. Over the past 6 years, she has taught ages 2-4, Enrichment and Art classes, and Chapel, and served as Assistant Director of the preschool during the 2011-2012 school year, beginning as Director in 2012. She loves MBPC Preschool and spending time with our wonderful preschoolers!

Kimmy Wilson is married to Rob and has two daughters, who have both attended MBPCP. Emily is in kindergarten at Brookwood Forest and Anne is in Miss Alex’s four year old class. She has a Masters Degree in Educational Psychology and taught kindergarten and first grade before staying home with her daughters. Originally from Oregon, she met her husband in Colorado and moved to Birmingham in 2014. She enjoys running, spending time with her family and being outside!
Elizabeth Powell grew up in Elba, Alabama. She graduated from The University of Alabama in 2002 with a degree in Hospitality Management. Upon graduating, she worked for a pharmaceutical sales company until her first child was born. She then became a nanny for a family and was with them for four years until she started at MBPC Preschool. Elizabeth is married to Taylor and they have two girls, Sara Clark and Amelia, who have both attended MBPC Preschool.
Robin Miller grew up in Dothan, Alabama and is a graduate of The University of Alabama. She was a graphic designer at an advertising agency before working as a freelance illustrator so she could stay at home with her three girls. Robin is married to Sam, both proud to be active parents at MBPC Preschool since 2006. Now that her children have all graduated from MBPC Preschool, Robin is so excited to be on staff and have a reason to stay involved with one of her favorite places!

Anna Drinkard was born in Birmingham and lived in Mountain Brook as a young child, but spent most of her childhood in Houston, TX. Anna graduated from The University of Alabama in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Advertising and a minor in Nutrition. Anna met her husband, Counce, at U of A and they moved to Nashville upon graduating where they married and had two daughters. In 2014, Anna and her family moved from Nashville to Mountain Brook. Anna’s daughters, Marlea (5th grade) and Annabelle(Kindergarten) both attend BWF. Her youngest daughter attended MBPC Preschool for two years before entering Kindergarten. Anna has been a full-time Mom for the past 6 years and is excited to be a part of the MBPC Preschool team and helping to enrich the lives of children.
Katie Juliano grew up in Roswell, Georgia. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Risk Management and Insurance. She worked at CRC Insurance Services prior to having children. She’s married to Paul Juliano and they have two children, Paul and Karoline, both attended MBPC Perschool. She’s enjoyed substituting at MBPC Preschool, teaching at Summer Fun and is looking forward to teaching in the fall!
Celeste has lived in Mountain Brook for the past 20 years. She has taught elementary school and has a masters in early childhood education. She has been a preschool teacher at MBPC off and on over the past 15 years, teaching the threes and fours and substituting for all ages. She has two children at the University of Alabama and one at Mountain Brook High School.
Evelyn Graham was born in California and raised in Texas. She is an Auburn University graduate with a degree in Business Administration/Accounting and a longtime resident of Birmingham, Alabama. When her first child, Drew, a 16 weeks premature triplet, needed special care, Evelyn left the corporate world to become a full-time stay-at-home mother. Living just a mile from MBPC gave the Graham family the opportunity to see not only Drew, but AnneCadman, Thomas, and Sam also become graduates of MBPC Preschool. Volunteering for seven years at the Bell Center for Early Intervention was an immeasurably rewarding experience and being offered the opportunity to work with toddlers again here at MBPC, a place very near and dear to her heart, is something she is very excited to begin!
Mrs. Beth, Tuesday/Thursday Toddlers
Hi! My name is Beth Underwood and I will be working with Taylor in the Toddler Room. I am so excited to meet you and your precious children! I have been subbing at MBPC since February, and have loved my time here. Prior to my children being born, I taught in the Hoover school system for several years. I also gained preschool experience while completing my graduate degree. I am married and have a daughter, Caroline, that’s a senior at Mountain Brook High School. My son Hudson is in 8th grade at Mountain Brook Junior High. I look forward to this year and promise to care for and interact with your children the way I would have wanted someone to do with mine!
Shannon Anderson has worked at MBPC for the past two years, as well as during past Summer Fun programs. Shannon has two teenage children, and does an amazing job with our sweet two year olds! We are so happy to have her working with us!
Mrs. Yaicha Brown, Two year olds (Tuesday/Friday)
I am currently a junior at UAB and studying in the School of Nursing. Upon graduating I hope to become a pediatric nurse and take all that I have learned from the preschool and apply it to my practice. After working at the preschool with the toddlers class the last two summers I could not be more excited to be working with Mrs. Shannon in the two year olds class for the rest of this year.
Maretta Ashford grew up in Mountain Brook, Alabama and graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Sociology. Maretta and her husband David have four boys Brannen, Andrew, Mason and Charlie who all attended MBPC Preschool and were blessed to be a part of such a wonderful preschool family. She is excited to be back teaching this year after leaving to be with her youngest son Charlie, who starts kindergarten this fall at Brookwood Forest Elementary alongside his three older brothers. Mrs. Maretta can’t wait to share time with her precious two year old’s this year!!!
Beth Woody grew up in Mobile, Alabama. She attended Auburn University and has worked in both retail and banking. For the past 18 years has been a stay at home mom. She lives in Vestavia with her husband Bill and they have twin daughters, Jordan and Kendall, both Freshman at Auburn University. She volunteered for 7 years at the Bell Center for Early Intervention during her time as a stay at home mom and found it to be such a rewarding experience. She is excited to be here at MBPC and to be working with her two year old class.
Amber grew up in Florence, AL and attended the University of North Alabama, receiving a B.S. in Communications/Public Relations. She is married to Scott, a State Farm Agent, and they have two daughters, Emma Kate and Elizabeth. Emma Kate is a first grader at Brookwood Forest and Elizabeth attends the preschool there as well as MBPC preschool. After being a full-time mom for many years, she is looking forward to being a part of the team at MBPC preschool!
Anna Katherine Scogin graduated from the University of Alabama in 2008 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. She has taught for 7 years in the Catholic School System. Growing up in Tuscaloosa, she married her high-school sweetheart (Drew) and they have a 2 year-old daughter, Anna Lake. If you ever visit the Birmingham Zoo, chances are you’ll run into them; they typically visit twice a week!
Mrs. Denise, Monday/Wednesday/Friday Three year olds
Denise Lauriello grew up in New York and moved to Alabama 10 years ago with her family. Denise and her husband, John, have 2 children in the Mountain Brook school system. Denise has worked as a preschool teacher for the past 8 years and is excited to be part of such an amazing preschool. When she’s not at the school, Denise makes and sells delicious, home-made Italian dinners such as Sausage Bread, Lasagna and Pasta that can be ordered to go!
Morgan Rogers grew up in Mountain Brook and attended MBPC Preschool as a child. She graduated from Auburn University in 2006 with a BS in elementary education. She taught second grade at Edgewood Elementary in Homewood for one year and has been a teacher at MBPC Preschool for the past seven years. Morgan is married to Justin, and they have three young children, Bella, Palmer, and Mary Morgan, all children of our preschool. She loves being a part of our preschool family and is looking forward to a terrific year!
Mrs. Tina, Four year olds
Tina Watson is originally from Pensacola, FL, but moved to Birmingham as a child. She is married to Cory and they have two daughters and currently lives in Trussville. She has taught at MBPC Preschool for close to 20 years!
Bethanne Taylor grew up in Decatur, AL and is a mom of 2 active boys. Both boys attended MBPC Preschool, and Bethanne gives credit to the program for helping rear her children and prepare them for their social & educational development. Bethanne received a BA in Graphic Design and Art History from Auburn University and a Masters in Art Education (K-12) from UAB. She taught Elementary Art in the Homewood system for many years. Bethanne is also a teacher-alum here at the preschool. Prior to taking time off to be a full-time mom, Bethanne taught toddlers and 3 & 4 year olds. She feels that teaching is her “calling,” and is blessed to be able to do what she loves. Preparing kids emotionally, socially, spiritually and intellectually is the sole purpose behind her curriculum. This is more than a job to her… it is simply what she was “meant” to do.
