On Friday we had our first planting day in the garden! Each class planted fall vegetable seeds in their own raised bed – peas, carrots, lettuce, turnips, lots of leafy greens and root veggies. We planted our herb garden so we can explore all the wonderful smells of lavender, mint, rosemary, sage, thyme and more. In our pollinator garden beds, we mounted bird houses, bug hotels and butterfly houses so come spring, we can see all the beautiful creatures that will come to our garden. Now we wait and watch things grow!
What a great time we had at our annual Preschool Fundraiser! A huge thanks to all who came, supported, donated and volunteered for our Birthday Bash. We had a great time celebrating with you, our MBPC Preschool family – bouncing, dancing, eating and partying with our preschoolers and preschool alums! Thanks to your generosity, we raised close to $4000 and received a table full of “birthday gifts” for our classrooms. Every penny will go to our classes and facility, to make our special school the best it can be!
Pizza + cupcakes + DJ + bouncies + balloon animals + photo booth + games + crafts + FUN!
Join us in the MBPC parking lot for an evening of birthday fun! All are welcome…family, friends, church members, neighbors, preschoolers, and preschool alums young & old!
Tickets: $15 per adult, $10 per child; Donations always appreciated! Tickets include dinner, drinks, dessert and 2 hours of party fun! All proceeds will “gift” our school with much–needed items for the classrooms and facilities.
You may also bring a small gift to the party, such as new books, dolls, play dough, puzzles and toys. View our Amazon Wish list for more ideas, or to see some of the items we are hoping to purchase from our fundraiser!
Tickets & payment for the event are due by October 3rd! Donations are accepted anytime. RSVP with your pre-paid ticket to join in the fun! You may pay with check or cash in the Preschool or Church Offices, or follow the link to donate with Paypal!
The more we sell, the closer we get to our “gifting” goal! You must purchase a ticket (1 per person) to attend, but you do not need to bring the physical ticket to the party. Donations are tax deductible!

About the teacher…Ms. Bethanne
Bethanne Taylor feels that teaching is her calling, and is blessed to be able to do what she loves. Preparing kids emotionally, socially, spiritually and intellectually is the sole purpose behind her curriculum. Mother of two boys, who both attended MBPC Preschool, Bethanne received a BA in Graphic Design and Art History from Auburn University and a Masters in Art Education (K-12) from UAB. She taught Elementary Art in the Homewood school system for many years. In her words, this is more than a job to her… it is simply what she was meant to do.
