We had such a wonderful time welcoming our preschool moms for a special morning at this year’s Muffins for Mom! Here are a few photos from today:
Weekly curriculum focuses on letter relationships and phonics, math concepts, art and art history and hands-on science exploration. We combine traditional learning techniques while incorporating the newest innovative strategies. “Work hard, play hard!” That’s our motto!
We spend much of our learning time outdoors, whether on our Learning Patio with a Sensory Wall and raised garden bed, in our Courtyard with open space to explore, or in our 5 Senses Outdoor Classroom and Habitat Garden. Using our Smartboard and special learning stations in the classroom, we make sure our students are prepared for the elementary school experience. And it is such a fun way to learn!
Our comprehensive whole-child approach, with individual and personal attention to each child, is a great foundation for each child in future academic and social success.
About the teacher…Ms. Bethanne
Bethanne Taylor feels that teaching is her calling, and is blessed to be able to do what she loves. Preparing kids emotionally, socially, spiritually and intellectually is the sole purpose behind her curriculum. Mother of two boys, who both attended MBPC Preschool, Bethanne received a BA in Graphic Design and Art History from Auburn University and a Masters in Art Education (K-12) from UAB. She taught Elementary Art in the Homewood school system for many years. In her words, this is more than a job to her… it is simply what she was meant to do.
“Our 5K is a child-centered classroom for all types of learning styles. From phonics to friendships, individuals grow academically, socially and emotionally.” -Ms. Bethanne, 5K
“My favorite thing about our school is its the best school ever and Ms. Bethanne is the nicest teacher!”
“My favorite thing about our school is that Ms. Bethanne is here!”
“My favorite thing about our school is learning.”
Some words from our parents…
“Bethanne brings fresh ideas, and her knowledge of art is second to none! We have loved having her and have no doubt 5K was the way to go for us!”

From the very beginning in our youngest classes all the way to the end of our 5K program, MBPC Preschool wraps our preschoolers in warmth and joy. With giggles, stories, footprints, singing, and lots of love, our babies are welcomed into education with the utmost gentleness in a safe, interactive and peaceful environment.
Our Tuesday/Thursday Toddler Class is the perfect introduction to preschool, with two caring, trusted teachers who are the best at what they do. These youngest children are consistently happy and well-adjusted thanks to the teachers’ individual attention and recognition of tailored needs. The class size is small, with 8 children max, so each child has plenty of room to play and receives lots of attention!
Mrs. Evelyn Graham and Mrs. Beth Underwood guide the children through a fun, relaxed day, starting with a sweet moment of “circle time,” filled with singing, clapping and having fun together. They make crafts, introducing them to new experiences and skills. Free play is a great time to make friends and learn social skills! We enjoy the beauty of our peaceful campus with strolls outside, looking for birds and listening to the sounds of nature. Our shaded Toddler playground is another fun place to explore!
If you are interested in your child joining us in this special class, we would love to welcome you into the MBPC Preschool family. We only have a few openings left…Spaces fill quickly in our fun Toddler class, open to ages 12-23 months. Give us a call today and come experience the peaceful, loving atmosphere for yourself!

“Our son just loves his teachers! Thank you for providing such a wonderful environment for our son!”
“It is the best gift to leave your child without any hesitation that she is in wonderful hands. These teachers genuinely enjoy the children and love watching them grow and change. I know everyday that [my child] is going to have a great time and be with teachers who love her. Thank you.”
“I know for a fact my child is loved by his teachers. I am very very happy with this program!”
“I was nervous moving my kids to a new school, but I love MBPC Preschool! I feel that every teacher loves my child. I am so happy we made the switch!”
We spent the last two beautiful days enjoying our Five Senses Outdoor Classroom and Community Habitat Garden. We planted vegetable plants and seeds in our teaching garden raised beds, sunflowers by our giant ruler, and perennial flowers in the pollinator beds.
Each age group enjoyed time digging and playing in the Children’s Exploration Area, with a sand box, gravel box, fairy garden, dinosaur garden, and lots of garden tools and dirt! Feel free to stop by anytime and take a peek at the growing plants, the little peaches, apples, blueberries and blackberries.

From our racing feet to rockets in space, we will run, jump, climb and fly our way through another great Summer Fun! Join us this summer as we race our way around the world, from the sea to the sky to the land in between. We will get our bodies moving, our minds growing and our hands creating with games, crafts, science experiments and more.
On Friday we had our first planting day in the garden! Each class planted fall vegetable seeds in their own raised bed – peas, carrots, lettuce, turnips, lots of leafy greens and root veggies. We planted our herb garden so we can explore all the wonderful smells of lavender, mint, rosemary, sage, thyme and more. In our pollinator garden beds, we mounted bird houses, bug hotels and butterfly houses so come spring, we can see all the beautiful creatures that will come to our garden. Now we wait and watch things grow!
